ABOUT US
Santiago Flores began his career in HVAC in 1990 by joining the company of Harold and Nancy Shumate, where he worked for 13 years. Driven by the well-being of his young family, he took on various roles, including managing the warehouse for 3 years. Thanks to the support of his mentor Ronny Kennedy and his manager Lisa Shumate, who funded his advanced training, Santiago developed skills in HVAC blueprint design, computer science, and AutoCAD. Subsequently, he led the design department for 7 years, successfully managing a team of six people.
His commitment and growth led him to be promoted to Project Manager, where he was responsible for cost control, materials and equipment management, as well as personnel supervision. In this position, he successfully led projects such as school expansions, churches, banks, shopping centers, control systems, and equipment modernization projects.
In February 2004, Santiago joined Jordan & Skala Engineers, where he expanded his experience designing everything from small renovations to large-scale projects, such as warehouses, skyscrapers, hotels, manufacturing plants, multi-family residential complexes, ocean view buildings, penthouses and high-end restaurants. His design experience spans DX refrigeration systems, condensed water systems, chilled water systems and dual fuel systems.
Over the past 8 years, Santiago has specialized in multifamily projects and assisted living centers, with budgets ranging from $200,000 to $6.1 million. His work includes garden-style homes, townhomes, and buildings up to 10 stories, completed primarily in the southeastern and northwestern United States, in states such as Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
